Took my 7-year old grandson. He had a great day and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to lose six hours. The walks are lovely and with the current drought the waterfalls were absent, but instead you get dramatic exposed giant borders and a super landscape. We did all three routes and would recommend sensible shoes or boots as the red and purple routes need good grip and stability in places. All routes are well-marked and clear to follow. Would say that the purple walk us as described and us great fun for an exploring 7-year old but is not for toddlers. The lung buster section is fabulous but would be challenging on bad knees/hips or for anyone who has low or poor fitness. The walks alone are worth it, but the added bonus of the small animal encounters sealed the day. The staff and keepers are super helpful and friendly and they are patient with children. All in all a great day out and highly recommended.

What a great day out and way better than we anticipated. Visited on a blazing hot Sunday 05/07/26. Really cool due to the shade of the many trees. Staff all really friendly and the location itself is actually huge with a wide variety of animals including an owl, skunk, meer cats, goats and reptiles. We came for a walk so the animals were an unexpected treat. They have a board where they clearly display feeding times and we had a very informative talk from a male keeper who was feeding "Cherry" the resident barn owl. Told us many interesting facts and even had a Q& A. Similarly young man in gift shop came to find us to answer a question we had previously asked about the porcupines. Waterfalls truly breathtaking and there are a couple of different walking options both well signposted. Cafe clean and decent- great brownies and coffee and toilets also clean. Activity packs available for children for just a couple of pounds. Would highly recommend for families as plenty to do but dont wear sandals as some areas are quite rocky. Well worth the very reasonable ticket price and I would recommend to anyone. FYI Car park was free, map to get around was also free. Five stars ❤️

We went on a quiet dry day. A fantastic example of a UK temperate rain forest. A very pleasant meander round the red route. Watched the merecats & albino skunk being fed & had lovely paninis & coffee in the cafe. This place is not suitable for wheel/ pushchairs or people with walking issues due to the nature of the terrain. Good footwear is a must. Well worth a visit & would go again if ever down there again.

A beautiful walk around the woodlands. Theres a short and long walk which both are lovely. And becky falls is stunning , huge almost perfectly round boulders in the river which cascades down beneath your feet. Id recomend it for a romantic walk or for familys alike. Beautiful .

The number 1 activity from my children's perspective, during our visit to Torbay. They loved the trails, they especially loved the waterfalls and the mini zoo is an extra (although I personally felt the macaw needed a friend, it looks very lonely). Dog loved it too, will definitely go back. I know I went as a child, so it's great to have a beautiful spot for generations to keep enjoying.
